About Me:
Hi! I’m Sarah Beck. I like it when people say it all in one word, in one breath, sarahbeck.
You are probably here because you took my card at a market. I now focus on fine art photography and working with clay, but I am a former “professional photographer” (I’ve got the certificate and all!).
I was a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, and retired from weddings after photographing them for 15 years. Over the span of 25 years I’ve photographed family portraits, seniors, bands, spaces, editorials, and even celebrity meet and greets.
While I no longer provide standard photographic services I am proud of the work I created and it’s a huge part of my portfolio. I’d love it if you took a look around.
My website is always evolving. I’d like to see a rather large overhaul on it this year (2026). I have some pretty wild sketches drawn up for it. A collision of neat and clean with a bit of whimsy. Whimsy was my word of the year for 2025 and I’m carrying it with me into 2026.
I’ve been married for the better part of two decades and have been homeschooling my children since 2012. I have been investing my time and art vending markets since 2019, but really began casually vending in 2017 with my kids.
In 2021 my, then, t(w)eens and I began an internship with mosaic artist, Ann Thane. That internship took me down a road I never thought possible to get on. We trained and studied with master potters, retired ceramic teachers, and late in life artists. After our sessions in the studio I found I didn’t want to stop playing with clay. I started bringing home small amounts to hand build with and before I knew it I was spending hours and hours making spoons. By 2023 spoons were coming with me to markets and I had a kiln from (the one and only) Wendy Costa in my possession!
I think that’s about it. You know the rest.
Thank you for visiting my little corner of the interwebs.
Be good to each other out there.
I’m rooting for you.
