Patty & Dave

sarah

I first met Patty and Dave many years ago. They created one of our friends.
One of my husband’s favorite people.
One of his best friends.
You know, the kind you have for a whole lifetime – if your lucky…
Anyways, a few years ago, after our semi-annual (not really annual at all) Oktoberfest party Patty wrote me, and asked about a photo session that would include all of the day to day activities that she and Dave enjoyed doing together.

They raked the leaves, started chili for dinner, made coffee, forehead bumped in the kitchen, sat with the dog in the backyard, read the paper on front porch, and played a lewd game of Scrabble. (Which I’m leaving off this post 😉 )

I remember driving away from their home with sore cheeks from smiling so much.

Revisiting these photos has been so bittersweet.

Dave passed away unexpectedly this weekend.

I am so glad to have been able to capture these photographs. Because it’s these,  the “nameless moments” that are the ones we end up missing the most.

pdb10112016-1-2Rest easy, Dave. You are already missed by so many. <3

The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.
